More than 5.13 million people watched the live racing action of the 60th Supercars Championship Repco Bathurst 1000 on Seven and 7Plus.
Seven’s coverage of the high-octane race averaged 1.17 million total viewers nationally, including 81,000 on 7plus, as Shane van Gisbergen claimed his third Bathurst 1000 title, alongside co-driver, Richie Stanaway, in his final Bathurst appearance before he exits the Supercars Championship at the end of the season.
The action from Mount Panorama dominated its timeslot in total people, 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s, and across the Bathurst 1000, over 54 million minutes of action was streamed on 7plus, up 24% year-on-year with an overall 57.1% share of BVOD.
SAS Australia chief instructor Ant Middleton rappelled from a helicopter with the Peter Brock Trophy.
Seven West Media chief marketing and audience officer, Melissa Hopkins, said thanks to Ant Middlton for delivering such an epic moment for Supercars and SAS Australia fans that won’t be matched.
“At Seven, we’re also doing things differently and enhancing the second screen experience," she said.
"For the first time, our Bathurst 1000 coverage included real-time digital innovations for our audiences and brand partners that took the viewing experience to the next level.
“Our partnership with Komo and Repco saw exciting new broadcast and 7plus integrations for advertisers, where viewers could interact with broadcast content through a series of gamified opportunities – including being able to ask Seven’s presenters questions, ask questions to drivers live, and vote for their favourite Bathurst moment ever."
