Amazon will be debuting at Super Bowl to promote its voice-controlled virtual assistant Echo.

The spot, created by Leo Burnett Canada, stars Alec Baldwin and former NFL star quarterback Dan Marino preparing for a Super Bowl party with the help of virtual assistant Alexa.

When Marino suggests a snack stadium is needed for the party, Alexa is on hand to explain to Baldwin exactly what that means: “A stadium built entirely of snacks.”

Amazon will use the hashtag #BaldwinBowl to promote the spot and it is being reported Baldwin and Marino will star in a game day spot.

Echo was updated earlier this week and can play live music as well as provide live score updates - the perfect assistant to a major sports event.

"Echo has had an amazing reception from customers over the past year - they love it," Neil Lindsay, vice president of Amazon devices says.

"We thought the Super Bowl was a great chance to tell even more people about what Echo and Alexa can do, and have some fun while doing it."
