AWARD School Masterclass: How to crack a creative brief

By AdNews | 3 October 2023

AWARD is hosting an AWARD School Masterclass  providing tips and tricks for cracking a creative brief and nailing an AWARD School application.

The October 24 one-hour webinar is hosted by Victorian AWARD School heads Huei Yin Wong and Ryan Clayton.

The session will give aspiring students the inside scoop on the application process, how to develop a great ad, and get the most out of the 12-week program, with attendees receiving invaluable feedback on their work from the two top industry creatives.

Huei Yin Wong, senior art director at Clemenger BBDO, said this workshop will give people a leg up to get into one of Australia’s most acclaimed course for storytellers, strategists, big thinkers and aspiring creatives.

"Especially if you’re applying for the first time or have applied before and missed out. We especially encourage those who are curious but might not know much about the advertising industry to tune in," said Yin Wong.

Ryan Clayton, creative director Ogilvy Australia, said people may never have created an ad or response to a client brief before, or have only just heard about AWARD School.

"No experience is necessary, so make sure you join us to find out more before applications open in February," said Clayton.

Those who register for the session will be sent a practice AWARD School brief in advance, which they will have one week to complete and submit so that Yin Wong and Clayton can provide individual feedback during the webinar.

Special guest speaker and former AWARD School VIC Head, VMLY&R Creative Director Kieran Moroney, will also share the thinking behind his 'FitChix' campaign—an innovative response to a brief from Honest Eggs Co which scored a host of international awards including Australia’s only Gold Lion at this year’s Cannes Lions festival.

Applications for AWARD School 2024 open on February 8. More information on the application process and course be found at awardschool.com.au.
