Australia's top TV shows making 2022 entertainment news headlines

The Block and Home and Away were the top entertainment stories read online during 2022, according to advertising platform Taboola.

The readership data is aggregated across a network of users on a multitude of publisher sites in Australia. 

Globally, news headlines went from worrying about one huge problem — COVID-19 — to worrying about a smaller issues, including other viruses and inflation. 

Two Australian TV shows, The Block and Home and Away, garnered reader attention this year.

According to Nine's latest ratings report The Block has a Total TV audience of 2.664 million. 

While The Seven Network in its yearly report claims Home and Away as Australia's number one drama.
