Australia's massive TV audience for King Charles III coronation

Millions of Australians tuned into the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, according to national Total TV figures compiled by VOZ.

Overall, more than 3 million watched the ceremony itself. 

Seven's broadcast saw 1,096,000 watch the coronation, with an additional 731,000 for the afternoon pre-session.

Nine totalled 738,000 for the ceremony, with an additional 462,000 for the pre-session and an additional 402,000 for the coronation celebration.

Paramount Network's 10 brought in 620,000 for it's coronation coverage.

ABC's coverage saw the King's procession tally 1,182,000 viewers, the service itself 1,155,000, the procession 1,154,000, the palace balcony 813,000 viewers, the arrivals 805,000 (with the arrivals - continued delivering an extra 427,000) and the afternoon preview 528,000 viewers.

According to The Guardian, 20 million in the UK watched the coronation, making it the most watched TV broadcast of the 2023 so far in the UK.
