Australia Post has appointed former Officeworks marketer Karl Winther to the newly created CMO role.
Winther has spent the past six years as the national marketing manager at Officeworks where he oversaw the launch of its new tagline ‘Make bigger things happen’.
Winther also previously spent more than a decade with Myer where he worked across marketing strategy, advertising and merchandise buying.
“This is a critical role for our organisation. We have the most trusted, authentic brand in the country,” executive general manager, community and consumer Nicole Sheffield says, speaking about his appointment as CMO.
“Driving that trust and connection with consumers and community is vital to the evolution of our business. We are both a community service provider and a retailer, the custodian of an iconic brand.”
Winther will be responsible for leading brand growth and acquisition marketing at Australia Post from early December.
This appointment follows news of former News Corp chief digital officer Nicole Sheffield joining Australia Post as its executive general manager, community and consumer.
