Nikki Warburton has had her role as CMO expanded to include chief customer officer at the auto brand Audi Australia.
The newly created role now encompasses the product planning, customer experience and digital innovation areas, as well as the existing marketing communications, corporate communications and experiential marketing functions that already comprised the marketing communications team.
Audi Australia managing director Paul Sansom says the realignment is about a more dedicated focus on the customer, adding that Warburton's successful first 12 months as CMO made her the "obvious candidate" to lead the expanded team.
“This realignment is a natural progression for our company as we head into a highly anticipated wave of new products that will arrive here in the next 12-18 months,” Sansom says.
“These will be pivotal for Audi as we take the brand into an exciting new era of premium mobility," Sansom says.
Warburton added that the new team brings together multiple elements of the business including the way it talks, interacts and offers its products to customers.
“I am thrilled to take on this broader responsibility, and I feel very energised by this incredible opportunity to lead our effort to become a more customer-centric business,” Warburton says.
“There’s so much to come from Audi that brings enormous opportunity in the premium mobility space, and we can’t wait to bring our customers with us on this exciting journey.”
Warburton is a former group director at the leading media company Austar United Communications, responsible for the product, sales and marketing function from 2001 until its sale to Foxtel in 2012.
She joined the luxury automotive business in July last year, taking the reins from GM of marketing Kevin Goult, who left the luxury automotive producer last year just prior to a restructure of the business.
