Arthur Sadoun, the CEO of Publicis Groupe, has cancer.
The 50-year-old revealed his condition in a video clip, a vehicle he regularly uses to speak to staff with a humorous twist.
This time was different:
"Bonjour, today this is not my usual film.
"Today I want to share something with you that is very personal. Couple of weeks ago I had surgery as I have to remove a very small tumor that turned out to be cancer.
"Many of you have experienced that for you or for your family this is something that is pretty tough to hear but most of you know also that this is something that you can overcome."
He says he has been lucky in that the cancer was detected early and surgery removed the cancer cells.
"It has been a ten tough days for me and for my family where I lost a few pounds but as you can see ... I'm back to the office and back to work.
"Many of you know me very well and you know that I leave no place for uncertainties.
"So now I'm gonna have a follow-up treatment to make sure that this thing never comes back.
"This means i will stay in Paris in May and in June."
