Teenage girls across Australia will be fainting all over the place as not one, but two radio stations hold live gigs for Justin Bieber's tour down under.

Australian Radio Network and Southern Cross Ausetero (SCA) have both jumped on the Bieber bandwagon, moving into the experiential territory with live gigs, albeit it in different cities.

SCA's Hit network is using its revamped heritage brand of the past 20 years, World Famous Rooftop, as the platform for an intimate Melbourne performance starring Bieber on Monday 28 September.

Fans are able to win tickets to the event by entering a competition on its social sites using the hashtag #2DayFMSendMeToBieber.

Meanwhile, ARN's Kiis network is also presenting a live Justin Bieber show in Sydney Harbour called #BieberIsland as part of its iHeartRadio content platform, on 30 September. The show is also supported by Network Seven's Sunrise and brand sponsor Optus.

Does it seem likely that the release of two Bieber gigs will erode interest? The radio networks don't seem concerned.

SCA head of content Dave Cameron told AdNews the World Famous Rooftop platform stands up in comparison to the competition given its 20-year heritage.

“Bieber's performance is pretty large scale,” Cameron said. “Our biggest point of difference is that we have reach, whereas our competitors haven't. We're able to turn around performance and push it out to every single corner of the country within a couple of hours purely with the reach of our regional networks.

IHeartRadio Australia head Geraint Davies said after 18 months of solid growth “this is an incredibly exciting phase in iHeartRadio Australia’s next huge step forward”.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have the legendary Justin Bieber perform as part of our iHeartRadio live series and with new content and partnerships soon to be announced in Australia.”

Bieber is in Australia to promote is fourth studio album and new single “What Do You Mean.”
