Elon Musk says Apple is threatening to remove Twitter from the app store.
An increasing number of major advertisers, now reported to include Apple, have paused advertising since the world's richest man bought the social media platform for $US44 billion.
Musk: “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why.”
And :“Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?”
Brands have been pausing advertising since Musk sacked half the 7,500 staff and more were reported to be resigning.
Global media agencies with combined budgets in the billions of dollars also are telling clients to be cautious, warning of brand safety issues since the world’s richest man took control at Twitter.
Musk, following an online poll of 15 million people (51.8% in favour), allowed former president Donald Trump to regain his twitter account.
Trump's account was switched off after the January 6, 2021, riot in Washington. Musk: "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated."
