Snap's ANZ sales lead Matt Coote has exited the social media business after eight years, AdNews can reveal.

Coote, a founding member of Snap ANZ, said the move was led by a personal decision to relocate to Newcastle after having his second child.

This marks the second Snap sales exit in recent months with ANZ sales director Ellie Rogers telling AdNews she resigned to focus on building her consulting business from Byron Bay.

Snap requires employees to come into the office 4 plus days a week.

The company is also undergoing a restructure of the local agency team. Snap confirmed to AdNews that Coote’s role was not impacted by the restructure, with the company currently recruiting a replacement.

Snap ANZ managing director Tony Keusgen told AdNews Coote played an enormously important role both in driving revenue ambitions as well as building the team culture in Australia.

"I am so grateful to Matt for his enormous contributions to our business and am thankful he will stay on with Snap for the next couple of months while we recruit for the new Head of Sales ANZ," Keusgen said.

"I wish Matt all the best in this next phase as he takes more time to spend with his family."

Coote said it’s been a privilege to lead the Snap sales team and he's excited to find his next leadership role.

“As a founding member of Snap ANZ, it’s time to say goodbye to my eight year Snap streak, and move to my next leadership role in our industry," Coote told AdNews.

"Still to this day, the company continues to deliver double digit growth in one of the toughest markets I’ve seen, thanks to a small, but mighty sales team.Matthew Coote

"The big trigger for me finally hanging up my yellow boots is family and our decision to move up to Newcastle. It’s time. We have recently just had our second child and it’s time to make the move we had always planned as a family.

"I am hungry for my next leadership role, which will hopefully see me as a weekly regular on the Sydney and Melbourne circuit, but also able to spend time with my family in Newie.

"I’ve never been more excited about the industry, and am looking forward to my new home within it.

"In the short term, I’m very excited, and slightly nervous, to be involved in my first UnLtd Adland Bail Out this week and am looking forward to dedicating more time to The Village an advocate group for working parents - which feels even more real to me than ever before!"

"I’m excited! I’m having some amazing conversations already!

"If you are reading this and thinking Matt Coote could add value to your business, give me a call. I cannot wait for my next adventure!”
