Alan Jones to join 4BC for Queensland elections

13 January 2015

Broadcaster Alan Jones will join Fairfax Radio Network’s 4BC next Monday for a two-week special program run on the upcoming Queensland state election.

Jones will broadcast on 4BC for a fortnight from 8am to 9am Queensland time, following his regular 2GB Sydney morning broadcast.

He will join Patrick Condren on the show, who already helms political commentary, interviews and talkback with the 4BC audience.

Jones will comment on the hotly-contested Queensland state election, as Liberal Premier Campbell Newman fights to retain government for a second term. The Queensland Liberal Party defeated Labor in the 2012 state election in the largest loss in Queensland political history. Polls are showing that Labor is coming back and that Newman’s own seat of Ashgrove is under threat.

"The Queensland election is shaping up to be a state of the nation issue with implications for the Abbott government, as well as Premier Campbell Newman,” Fairfax Radio Network national content director Clark Forbes said.

4BC general manager Anthony Frangi adds: “Alan is a familiar voice on 4BC and we look forward to having him back on air for this special two week program.”
