The Australian Football League (AFL) has appointed of Nick Forward as general manager of AFL Digital.
The role oversees the strategic management of AFL Digital and marketing channels, including news, social, content, brand, product and production, with a focus on diversifying content streams and driving the evolution of the digital experience for fans.
Forward’s experience in building subscription products locally and internationally has been demonstrated most notably as chief content officer at Stan, where he played a leadership role in bringing both the concept of the Stan streaming platform to life and growing it into the product it is today.
Prior to Stan, Forward spent time at Sky UK and Virgin Media where he gained significant experience across media, product, marketing & general management roles.
Most recently, he held the position of managing director of OSN+ and group chief content officer at OSN, the Middle East’s growing entertainment business, leading its digital transformation and long-term growth ambitions.
Kylie Rogers, executive general manager of customer and commercial at the AFL, said: “I’m thrilled to be welcoming Nick to the AFL team. He brings a wealth of experience along with a fresh perspective which will be pivotal in leading AFL Digital and all its outputs.
“He and the team will continue to build relevance and connect with our fans in the most authentic and meaningful ways possible.”
