Kogan.com's dive into advertising is progressing at a stunning pace.
The online retailer, with ambitions in retail media, says advertising brought in more than $1.3 million in the half year to December.
From a very low base, that's 645.2% growth compared to the first six months of calendar 2023
"The Kogan Advertising Platform, which launched at the beginning of the half, has quickly become a material contributor for the company," Kogan said in a statement to the ASX.
Retail media, one of the fastest growing ad channels and potentially one of the most valuable in years to come, has been hard for media buyers to ignore over the past few years.
The local Australian market is estimated to be attracting more than $1 billion in ad dollars and growing at 20% a year.
Founder and CEO Ruslan Kogan says the team remains dedicated to delivering the best value to support the millions of Aussies and Kiwis who are feeling the pinch.
"Having returned the business to a position of stability and strength, our unwavering focus remains on enabling Aussies and Kiwis to live their best lives," he says.
Overall Kogan reported gross sales of $445.4 million, fall of 5.6%, in the six months to December.
However, gross profit was up 42% to $89.5 million, driven by improved margins.
