Not much was known about ASX-listed digital consultancy RXP in adland before it snapped up The Works in August, but on the AdNews podcast this week its CEO Ross Fielding is joined by The Works founder Damian Pincus to discuss how the two businesses plan to work together in the future.
We look at why consultants may be a better option than multinationals or independents and shut down the "ill-informed" critiques in the industry who say consultants will kill agency culture.
"My instinct is that we are a little bit ahead of the game, but I think it's better to be ahead of the game than behind," Pincus said, adding that The Works/RXP model is something that is increasingly of interest to clients.
"Our philosophy of clients guiding how quickly we take the next step has happened, with multiple joint pitches already occuring and two sets of new business won by the joint team," Fielding said.
Fielding added that adland can expect to see RXP "sing from the hills" about its new creative proposition and take part in a lot more of the industry award shows.
