AdNews is delighted to present a redefined and rebranded Media Summit in 2017, which will for the first time in its history service the dynamic and bustling industry in Melbourne.
The Media Summit - an established conference on the advertising industry’s calendar in Sydney - has been expanded to become the Media + Marketing Summit with even greater focus on client side marketers.
The shift recognises the broader media and marketing landscape and the big picture issues affecting both clients and their agency partners.
As the two disciplines of media and marketing come ever closer together, it was an obvious play to bring the two colliding worlds into one conference schedule. As such, names already confirmed include Jenny Williams, CMO of current AdNEWs Brand of the Year, Ubank CMO Jo Kelly, IAG CMO Brent Smart, Lenovo APAC, head of digital and social Danielle Uskovic.
AdNews is also delighted to announce that this year’s presenting partner is Carat.
Carat CEO Paul Brooks says: “We’re proud to be working with AdNews to make the Summit a best-in-class industry event. Media and marketing are two intrinsically-linked disciplines and this event rightly brings them together under the same banner, including some of the best minds from both sides. There’s going to be an incredible amount of talent in the room, sharing their insights and no doubt sparking some interesting discussion. We’re very much looking forward to it, especially given the addition of the Melbourne event this year.”
This year’s theme for the two events is ‘Bursting The Bubble’. The aim is to focus on the big picture and give all attendees insights they can learn from, be inspired by and apply to their own business. It will explore questions such as - are those working in advertising, media and marketing too bogged down in the everyday to see the bigger picture? Are we drowning in reams of data? Is it now time lift our eyes from a downward stare to an upward gaze? Can we be the drivers of a post post-truth reality? And is this relevant not just to our work, but how we approach our work? Can our working practices be improved? Plus more.

Sydney’s event will take place on 12 May at its long-standing venue Randwick Racecourse, while Melbourne will debut on 2 August at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, in the heart of Federation Square.
Carat is the event's Presenting Partner, along with support from Fairfax Media, The Trade Desk, Tonic Health Media. Rakuten Marketing and Tribe will lead the FastFront sessions, showing off the latest developments from their businesses .
Discounted early bird tickets are now available for both events.
Expressions of interest for speaker slots or themes should go to AdNews editor Rosie Baker or event content editor Nicola Riches.
