The 35th Australian Commercial Radio & Audio (ACRA) Awards celebrated the role of regional radio, recognising outstanding broadcasters and teams across the country.
Christmas by the Lake by the 3CS & Mixx FM Team from Colac, VIC (ACE Radio Broadcasters) took home Best Community Campaign – Country, for success in uniting the community through a festive, feel-good celebration.
Wollongong’s i98FM was recognised for their outstanding work in supporting one of the region’s largest charity convoys, with the i98FM Illawarra Convoy Team winning Best Community Campaign – Provincial.
Leesa Singleton from 864 Triple M Toowoomba/Darling Downs (SCA, QLD) was awarded Best New Talent Off-Air – Radio – Non-Metro, marking her as a rising star behind the scenes of regional radio.
On the airwaves, James Thwaites and Matt Lipiarski of Mixx FM Colac, VIC, took home Best On Air Team – Country for their morning show, Mixx Brekky with Jimmy & Lippi.
Courtney McIntyre from Mixx FM Hamilton, VIC (ACE Radio Broadcasters) was honoured as Individual Talent of the Year – Country, recognised for her impactful presence, which resonates deeply with local audiences.
Triple M Newcastle was awarded Best Local News Team – Country for the outstanding work of David Dollin, Dan Flegg, and Saskia Channing (SCA NSW).
“Regional radio plays a vital role in connecting people and telling local stories that matter,” said Lizzie Young, chief executive officer of Commercial Radio & Audio.
“These winners demonstrate the power of radio to inspire and create real impact in their communities, showcasing the strength of local broadcasting.”
