Nickie Scriven's next project is Chief Meta Chicks, due to launch at the Women in Payments conference at the end of November.

This is a global community aimed to support and develop women in business and is one of two ventures Scriven has been  working on since she stepped down as Zenith CEO in March. The second is Alchemy8, a consulting business.

After eight years with holding group Publicis “it felt like the right time to do something new,” Scriven told AdNews.

“To start Alchemy8 will be in the consulting space - pulling the right partners together for clients as opposed to doing everything ourselves.

“But we will build to a full-service agency.”

Always planning on doing her "own thing” after leaving Zenith, Alchemy8 was a planned project for some time with the business being registered years ago.

Unlike Alchemy8, Chief Meta Chicks was a newer idea which came to Scriven after she resigned as CEO and registered the name around April this year.

“I sort of decided that I was going to do both, besides they are quite linked anyway which will become very evident when Meta Chicks launches at the end of this month.”

However, as a sneak peek, Scriven gave AdNews the model in a nutshell.

“Where Chief Meta Chicks and Alchemy8 will intersect is that Chief Meta Chicks will have access to job opportunities.

“So as work comes into Alchemy8, it will be briefed into the Chief Meta Chicks community.

“The idea behind that is an individual building a side hustle might need a bit of work on the side, so project opportunities will come out of the community.

“The current Chief Meta Chicks [group members] are all running their own businesses as well and they will be able to brief job requirements into the community as well.

“So there's a huge value for the Chief Meta Chicks community to get business mentorship, entrepreneurial development, financial support and more to build a business in one supportive, encouraging and motivating environment.

“Whilst also having the ability to tap into contract employment when needed to keep money coming in on the side.”

While the name might suggest the group is women-only it is open to anyone.

“Chief Meta Chicks is global, it's not industry specific and not just in Australia,” Scriven said.

“I want Chief Meta Chicks to be broadly accessible to help women of any age or nationality to feel a network of support and have guidance to educate themselves, be inspired by others and have support to get their own businesses up and running.

“If you've got access to the internet, you’ve got access to the Chief Meta Chicks community.

“There's so many women that are self-educating in third world countries now and trying to find a path out of the environment that they're in - this is part of the community’s aim.

“It will be a pretty powerful, amazing network to help other people in the community to get their business ideas off the ground.

“I welcome anyone to reach out to me and get involved, the more the merrier in the community and even from a leadership perspective.

“I'll be launching with 10 Chief Meta Chicks, but that won't be the limit.”

Scriven encourages any interested parties to reach out to her through LinkedIn or via the Alchemy8 website until the Chief Meta Chicks website is running by the end of this month.
