2022 Australian Effie Awards open for entries

Advertising Council Australia (ACA) announced that the 2022 Australian Effie Awards are now open for entries, with the closing date confirmed as June 2.

Now in their 14th consecutive year, the Effies celebrate the effectiveness of creative communications, recognising advertising campaigns that demonstrate outstanding measurable results.

This year, ACA will host a free Effies Launch and Jumpstart Mentoring webinar on March 10 that will provide entrants, including new entrants and those who haven’t entered for some time, with all the information they need to craft a winning Effies submission.

The virtual one-hour session will be hosted by ACA CEO Tony Hale, VMLY&R’s Chief Strategy Officer Ali Tilling, and The Monkeys Chief Strategy Officer Fabio Buresti, providing tips for creating a culture that supports the development of a comprehensive Effies entry and for writing an entry that has the potential to win gold - as well as covering important changes to this year’s awards.

“The Effies should be accessible to any marketer or agency yet it can be challenging for those who are new to the Effie Awards, especially if they are not sure what data is required or how to build a convincing case entry,” said ACA CEO Tony Hale.

“Last year’s inaugural Jumpstart Mentoring Program was a success, and we look forward to aspiring applicants tuning in again to ask questions as part of making the Effies more accessible to the broader marketing community and creating more case studies in advertising effectiveness for the industry to learn from,” he said.

Following the webinar, all prospective entrants in the Jumpstart category will be offered a mentoring pathway with a member of the Jumpstart Mentoring Panel, made up of Effie ‘greats’ whose knowledge and experience of writing winning Effie cases is legendary, including Jennifer Rhodes Head of Effectiveness & Data Strategy, BMF, Pieter-Paul von Weiler, Founder, Better Briefs, Olly Taylor, Chief Strategy Officer, Host/Havas, and Christina Aventi Chief Strategy Officer, BMF.

There are 26 categories available to enter in this year’s Effie Awards. Details here.

The initial entry deadline is June 2. An extended and final deadline of June 16 will be available but will incur a late entry fee.

Round one judging will take place online from July 11 to 15, with finalists announced on July 27.

Round two Judging is set for September 6.

All Effies winners will be announced at an awards dinner and presentation in Sydney on Wednesday 19 October. Details of the event will be announced soon.
