2.3 million tune in to Nine to see Djokovic win Australian Open

2.311 million viewers tuned into watch the 2023 Australian Open men's final, with the Nine Network and Channel Nine winning the night's viewing with total people and all key demographics as a result.

A national peak audience of over 1.7 million metro viewers and over 600,000 regional viewers saw Novak Djokovic defeat Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets as Djokovic claimed his record tenth Australian Open title and 22nd major title overall, tying Rafael Nadal.

The Australian Open on Channel Nine was the highest rating sport for the 14th consecutive day.

The Nine Network topped the 5 City Metro with a 47.7% share of Total People, 56.3% share of people aged 25-54 and a 60.3% share of people aged 16-39. Channel 9 was the number one primary channel for the night across the 5 City Metro with a 41% share of Total People, 49.9% share of people aged 25-54 and 54.9% of people aged 16-39.

For 9Now, the final recorded the highest live BVOD Audience for an Australian Open match, totalling 245,000 (+8% YoY).
