Hunted has become TV’s biggest launch of 2022 after the first episode aired on 10 last night, peaking at 1.04 million viewers.

Finishing number-one in its timeslot in under 50s and all key demos (25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and 18 to 49s), it garnered a 30.7% commercial share as well as a 40% commercial share in under 50s, 37.6% in 25 to 54s and 34.9% in 16 to 39s.

It was the biggest numbers for the opening episode of a show by 10 since The Amazing Race Australia in 2019, with #HuntedAU trending #1 on Twitter in Australia as a result.

Daniel Monaghan, SVP of content & programming at Paramount ANZ, said: “Hunted is a captivating, powerful, and unique show that has excited Australian audiences.

“Bringing in a robust national audience of 884,000, with a peak of 1.04 million viewers, it outran its competition. It was the #1 entertainment show of the night and finished first in its timeslot with a massive 40% share in the key advertising demographic of under 50s.

“Thank you to our production partners, Endemol Shine Australia and Visit Victoria, our Fugitives and Hunters.

“Network 10 continues to bring fresh formats to Australian audiences, and we still have plenty of good TV to come including, Shaun Micallef’s Brain Eisteddfod, The Real Love Boat, and The Traitors, as well as returning favourites, The Masked Singer, The Amazing Race Australia and The Bachelors.”

Hunted follows nine teams of Fugitives who go on the run from a team of expert Hunters. The Fugitives can run anywhere in Victoria and how they evade capture is up to them. If the Fugitives can evade capture for 21 days, they will win a share of $100,000.

The second episode will air today at 7:30pm.
