Freedom celebrates summer with Castaway campaign from new creative agency of record, The General Store.
Australian furniture and homewares brand, Freedom, has appointed The General Store as its creative agency of record.
The General Store will be responsible for the brand’s strategic and creative direction.
“The General Store offers a unique blend of retail expertise and creative firepower. They were quick to understand our business,” Freedom GM customer and marketing Jason Piggott says.
Their first work together launches with the ‘Castaway’ campaign, promoting the arrival of Freedom’s Summer Collection.
The 60 second TVC follows a stranded couple who retrieve lost items of furniture from the ocean as they build camp on an deserted island.
Side tables lay dormant on the ocean floor, woven chairs are chased on the surf, vases bob along in the waves and trestle tables are hauled in from the shore.
Finally, complete with a full dining set, multiple sofas and an abundance of soft furnishings the castaways wait for help amongst Freedom’s newest summer collection.
“Freedom is a brand with a strong legacy and a very strong product offer. We’re looking forward to helping the business strengthen its proposition in the market,” The General Store co-founder and CEO Matt Newell says.
The General Store is an independent retail specialist agency that offers strategy, advertising, design, technology and store design services.
After many years with M+C Saatchi, AdNews understands that Freedom is thought to have briefly gone to DDB before being won by The General Store.
