Due to COVID restrictions a media briefing for the fundraising campaign was done via video this year.
Rapid Media Melbourne has begun the process of briefing all media partners for the 2020 Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation “Blue Ribbon Day”.
Rapid Media general manager - Victoria Nick Swifte has been associated with the Blue Ribbon Foundation since 1999 and has now maintained his involvement and commitment to the annual Blue Ribbon Day fundraising campaign since moving to Rapid Media from the Dentsu Aegis Network in December 2019.
In previous years the media briefing for this event has been delivered in person to members of the Melbourne media industry with involvement from Blue Ribbon Foundation chair David Mann and CEO Neil Soullier, the Chief Commissioner for Victoria Police and family members of Victoria Police Members who have died in the line of duty.
Due to COVID restrictions in 2020 all parties have worked with Carla Brugliera from Blue Ribbon Foundation's creative agency DPR&Co. to produce a video briefing with messages from Mann, chief commissioner Shane Patton, Blue Ribbon family member Paul Moore and Nick Swifte.
“It is always a great honour to be associated with Blue Ribbon Day and to provide whatever assistance I can to this wonderful cause," Swifte says.
"2020 has been an especially challenging year for Victoria Police for many reasons and hopefully we can work together to deliver a great result for Blue Ribbon facilitated by the generosity of the Melbourne Media industry.
"It is quite humbling to be a part of something so worthwhile and to witness the consistent kindness that is a hallmark of Melbourne Media.”
