Want to know the impact of having a pet? Pedigree shows it could keep you healthier.
A new campaign, Hearts Aligned, by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, follows stories of three Aussie pet owners, who have taken part to show how dogs reduce stress levels and improve lives.
It taps into research showing that pet owners have greater self-esteem, undertake more exercise and have greater measures of well-being.
Clemenger BBDO Melbourne executive creative director Ant Keogh says: “We discovered that we share a real and measurable physiological bond with our dogs - our heart-rhythm. When a close relationship is shared, we can physically align with one another. This fascinated us, so we set out to create a filmed demonstration that proves, using live heart-rhythm data, that being close to your dog is good for us as human beings.”
In addition, Australians are encouraged to share their own dog photos using the hashtag #HeartsAligned, with every Facebook post triggering a $1 donation from Pedigree to national organisation Pet Rescue, up to $20,000. The campaign will run until the end of May.
Kate Waite, Pedigree spokesperson adds: “Pedigree we truly believe that dogs bring out the best in us. We are thrilled to be able to showcase this sentiment through the Hearts Aligned campaign and to celebrate the many benefits they bring to our lives.”
