Tasmanian milk brand Ashgrove shows how it helps fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses.
Australia’s athletes won’t be the only legends gracing Tasmanian TV screens from Friday, with Tasmanian dairy company Ashgrove releasing the latest in its iconic TV ads, this time with Lance Spaulding, the “happiest milkman” joined by McGrath Foundation ambassador and director, Tracy Bevan.
Many Tasmanians will be familiar with the pink Ashgrove milk truck and its cheerful driver, Lance, the “happiest milkman”, but what they may not know is 2.5c from every litre of light milk sold goes to funding McGrath Breast Care Nurses.
Through its partnership with the McGrath Foundation over the past two years, Ashgrove has raised more than $30,000 to help fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia. And this year they are doing it again.
To recognise and thank the amazing contribution of Ashgrove and Tasmanians who have helped so far, Bevan joined the milk run to shoot the TV ad in and around Hobart.
“I loved spending the day with Lance. I can see why he’s the happiest milkman, it feels good knowing you’re helping people! I want to thank Lance and the whole team at Ashgrove from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support. And thank you to everyone who buys Ashgrove light milk, you truly are making a difference,” Bevan says.
“We simply couldn’t continue funding specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses where they are needed most without the support of great organisations like Ashgrove and fantastic communities like yours.
“Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, so our McGrath Breast Care Nurses are needed more than ever. Our nurses don’t just help the person going through breast cancer, they can help the whole family. They provide invaluable physical, emotional and psycho-social support, from the time of diagnosis and right throughout treatment – for free."
Ashgrove CEO Richard Bennett says, “We are immensely proud to continue our partnership with the McGrath Foundation, helping fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses to help Tassie families impacted by breast cancer.”
The McGrath Foundation funds 170 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, who have supported more than 95,000 families since 2005.
There are five McGrath Breast Care Nurses in Tasmania who support patients and their families across the state.
The ad was filmed prior to the current COVID outbreaks across Australia and will be airing from Friday.
