McDonald’s shows the realities of modern parenthood and childhood in this 'made for family' ad.
McDonald’s latest ad gives a nod to the stresses of modern families. The ad shows a family moving fro the country to the city and all the challenges that offers for both the parents and the child – working too much, having a smaller garden, missing the bus and feeling lost in a new place.
Maccas says the ad aims to “acknowledge what it’s like to be a parent in this day and age”. It counters those stresses with moments of ease and positions itself as a place where people can “feel at home”.
The ad, created by DDB, aired for the first time during State of Origin last night on Nine.
“McDonald’s, at its heart, is all about families and this campaign is about celebrating real family life in Australia. As a brand we play a role in making life a little easier at times, we can empathise with parents as they navigate the day to day. Made for Family is core to what Macca’s stands for,” says McDonald’s marketing director Jo Feeney.
