Dumb Ways to Die just got Olympic-sized, in a new campaign for Metro Trains which sees the characters in an athletics competition.
Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games, by McCann Melbourne, builds on the original campaign, with the release of a new app game which sees the characters in an athletics competition, vying for the title of "Dumbest of the Dumb". The game is focused on three arenas which are all connected by train travel, and are only accesible once a train safety game is complete.
The campaign will also include online videos combining live action and animation, Facebook content and a new website.
The original Dumb Ways to Die game went to number one on the iTunes App Store in more than 21 countries, had more than 70 million downloads and moer than 1.2 billion plays.
Metro Trains general manager, corporate relations and business development, Leah Waymark said: "The Dumb Ways to Die characters are safety champions, mainly around trains, but occasionally they see risks with other popular events and like to warn people of the consequences.
“We hope to surprise and delight people of all ages with a really fun and entertaining game, while still conveying a serious safety message. With this campaign it became cool to be safe, and dumb to take risks around trains.”
The app is available exclusively from the iTunes App Store today, and will also be made available for Android.
