America. Land of the craft beer revival. Bringing an ale from the UK to the land of the free is a bit like bringing coal to Newcastle, or an apple to an orchard. But that hasn't stopped Newcastle Brown.

The legendary Geordie brew, first surreptitiously slurped by many in dingy indie nights, is pitching itself to the Americans by telling them how good it might have been if Britain had kicked their asses arses in the Revolutionary War, instead of the other way around.
And who better then Stephen Merchant, co-writer of The Office (which America appropriated, and did not as well) and Extras along with Ricky Gervais, to front the campaign.
America would be a Great Britian clone. Their insults would be much better with more “bollocks” and “slags” thrown in, he muses.
“Imagine how great America would have been if Great Britain won the Revolutionary War. And imagine how much beer Newcastle would've sold” runs the no-nonsense tagline.
The campaign asks Americans to raise their glasses in a toast on this July 3rd, and imagine what it would be like if July 4th had turned out differently.
