It's official, emojis are taking over the world.

We’ve seen emojis for safe-sex, we’ve seen emojis on Pepsi cans and now emojis will be the star of new Goa billboards in Brisbane.

The campaign, existing only of emojis, launches today celebrating Goa’s digital flagship screen, The Valley Iconic. It's 150sqm, making it the largest of Goa’s digital screens and is placed at one of Brisbane’s busiest intersections.

Marking the first day of operation, the Australian digital outdoor company will showcase emojis on screen that reflect commuter’s moods with business suits, money and most importantly, coffee.

On Friday the Valley Iconic will tell stories of drinks, dancing and celebration with knock-off drinks in mind. Everything in-between will be reactive - to weather, current events as well as other factors - served up in real-time on the Goa Connect platform.

Goa’s joint managing director, Chris Tyquin, says Goa have aimed to make the campaign ‘brave, fun and clever’, something he thinks Brisbane’s residents will appreciate.

“This screen alone reaches over 10% of Brisbane’s population every week, but unless we aim to use it to have fun with them, it could be just another digital billboard.

“By expressing the public’s mood in such a big way, we’re taking the first step toward ensuring that they notice and remember the screen,” says Tyquin.
