Aldi is saying something most people don't like to admit. Christmas is a huge pain in the ass.
This year's cheeky Christmas advert, from the retailer and creative agency BMF, shows the stress of the festive season but also the benefits that make it all worthwhile.
BMF creative director Alex Derwin says this year Aldi aimed to "celebrate the truth" about Christmas.
"The campaign is a breathless charge through the pre-Christmas chaos," Derwin said.
"By showing the stress of the festive season in such a frenetic and freewheeling way, the viewer gets to feel the pleasure of finally sitting down to enjoy their Christmas dinner. It's simple, direct and irreverent, just like Aldi ads should be.”
The ad also showcases Aldi's range of seafood, desserts and Christmas decorations and will be released through print, radio, online and POS.
Aldi marketing director Sam Viney said: “More and more people are finding their perfect Aussie Christmas at Aldi. Our Christmas range tastes as good as it looks and we’re really proud of the way it has been captured by the team.”
