If you're looking for your very own The Shining experience, Booking.com has all the haunted hotels in the US, just in time for Halloween.

The accommodation bookings website has launched a campaign by Wieden + Kennedy Amsterdam which spruiks its credentials of being able to place you in any kind of hotel you're after. Including the Queen Anne hotel in San Francisco which was originally the Miss Mary Lake's School For Girls (that just sounds creepy on its own) and is said to be haunted by the ghost of the headmistress Miss Mary. Can you say “nnueeerrghh”?

There are six other haunted hotels in the US which feature throughout the campaign in out-of-home executions designed to look like movie posters which will be hung in cinema lobbies.

The TV ad is in the format of trailer for a horror movie and will be targeted to audiences during horror TV and movie experiences.

Booking.com chief marketing officer Paul Hennessy said: “We are committed to getting it right for our customers and with over 350,000 properties we are able to deliver exactly what they want, even if that is haunted hotels. Halloween presented the perfect opportunity to deliver this message in a way befitting of the holiday.”

Wieden + Kennedy executive creative director Mark Bernath said: “From The Shining to Psycho, accommodations have played a key role in the cinematic history of horror. It was important for us that the work stay true to the genre and pay homage to the content and design that horror fans crave.”
