Day One. Remember what it was like? We do.
After just over 3,072 hours in a media agency, we can still feel it all: the sweaty palms, croaky voice and a weird twitch in our eye. Media agencies can be a pretty intimidating environment. The conference calls with awkward silences, the introduction emails, that first meet and greet. Then there’s that guy who keeps talking to you and you have no idea what his name is.
Let’s be honest though, it’s also crazy fun. From the bottom gazing up at agency world, you can see the industry in a unique way. Like a kid looking through a kaleidoscope, all of us assistants, executives, coordinators, trainees and whatever else, have a fascinating perspective at how it all works. The late nights, early mornings, long lunches and the collective inability to explain what we do, it all adds up to a pretty enviable job.
Bottoms Up is a new look at medialand. While AdNews covers the movers and shakers of the industry, the trends that drive it and the ideas that define it, Bottoms Up is a view from the inside; a view from the bottom rung on the career ladder.
Bottoms Up is about all of us at this level sharing the stories from the bottom.

The reality of the industry is largely felt at our level. At the bottom you feel it all and have only one direction to look in – up.
From the bottom up, we see the industry in a different light. We hope that you enjoy what you see. There will be smiles, might be tears, could be allergic reactions and a few robot moves on the dance floor.
So let us introduce ourselves as Bottoms Up – John and Mark – in the way agencies know best.
