Seven's The Mole debuted to just 864,000 viewers last night, while Ten's Under The Dome kept its momentum with an audience of 1.01 million metro viewers.

The return of Seven's rebooted reality series The Mole had a soft launch with 846,000 metro viewers, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTam. It was the 13th most watched free-to-air program of the night. While the numbers are soft for a launch on Seven, it could build its audience as House Rules did. The reality renovation show debuted to just 803,000 viewers back in May but gradually boosted its audience across the series to an impressive finale of 1.83 million earlier this week.

After six years, family drama Packed to the Rafters bowed out last night with 1.32 million metro viewers across the two final episodes, which ran from 8.45pm to 10.45pm last night.

Meanwhile, the second instalment of Ten's new US sci-fi series Under the Dome attracted 1.01 million metro viewers, according to confirmed times from the network. Despite being slightly down on its debut audience of 1.17 million last week, it's a good retention rate for Ten. Under the Dome is one of many shows the network has fast-tracked from the US in the past year, however, unlike the majority of them, Under the Dome is broadcast within hours of the overseas run rather than days.

MasterChef had an audience of 798,000 metro viewers while Ten's News at Five had 756,000 metro viewers.

Nine News was the top-rating program of the night with 1.33 million metro viewers. The Block stayed strong with an audience of 1.29 million metro viewers.

Across the main channels, Seven won the night with 25.1% audience share, followed by Nine with 20.1%. Ten had 14.1% while SBS had 5.1%.
