The TAC will split with Grey Melbourne, putting an end to the 24-year partnership. AdNews understands Clemenger BBDO Melbourne is set to be appointed to the business.
The government road safety organisation called a statutory review of the creative account in June. The pitch was led by recently joined senior manager of marketing Simon Strahan, who was appointed after long-serving marketer John Thompson left at the end of 2012.
The TAC and Grey partnership has been one of the most enduring relationships in Australian advertising, having begun in 1989. It is also one of the agency's largest Melbourne clients, which has generated numerous international and local awards and accolades for campaigns such as 'Pictures of You'.
A TAC spokesperson said: "The TAC will make a formal announcement in due course once the process is finalised."
Clemenger BBDO also works with the Victorian government on other creative endeavours including Tourism Victoria.
Grey Melbourne's other clients include Bulla, Holden and government workplace safety organisation Worksafe. However, Worksafe is currently under review.
Grey and Clemenger could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
