Subaru extends Perisher tie-up

Subaru has renewed its partnership with snow resort Perisher, remaining as exclusive car sponsor until 2013, as the car brand unveils a new website.

Subaru has extended the partnership in place since 2007, which will see Subaru and Perisher engage in cross-promotional and co-branded marketing activities. Subaru will also continue to provide Perisher with its vehicles.

Subaru general manager, marketing, Andrew Caie said: "Our customers have a passion for the outdoors, and our vehicles are the perfect way to get to the Australian snow fields, making our partnership with Perisher the perfect fit. This year will see us explore, together, even more ways to offer value for new and existing Subaru customers."

Meanwhile, Subaru has unveiled a new look website, developed by recently-appointed digital agency Isobar. The site will feature a "Build your own Subaru" tool, model comparisons, owners' portal, mobile sites, as well as finance and insurance, and service and maintenance information. The new features will be rolled out in several phases.

Subaru managing director Nick Senior said: "Car buying habits are constantly changing with more people using the web to research and review their next vehicle purchase.

"The rapidly changing pace of digital technology means we need to think differently about how we communicate with our customers and prospective customers and this new site allows us to not do that, but to also interact with them in a way they choose."

Last month, Leo Burnett Sydney resigned as Subaru's creative agency after a 26-year relationship following the car brand's decision to move to a roster arrangement. According to Leo Burnett chief executive Todd Sampson in an email to staff, Subaru had decided to individually pitch its campaigns among rostered agencies, which also includes US Sydney, Disciple and Isobar.

Subaru currently has no plans to replace Leo Burnett with another agency and will continue to work with its other rostered agencies.
