Starcom Sydney managing director Bob Goodge is set to leave the agency this month, after 13 years with the company.
The day-to-day running of the Sydney business will now be handled by agency director Sue Kallas, supported by chief operating officer Chris Nolan and chief executive John Sintras.
Sintras said of Goodge's departure: “Bob has been with us since Starcom launched, so there has never been a Starcom without Bob. It is difficult to imagine the place without him. Over his time with the company, he has been a key member of the management team in various roles and a major factor in our ongoing success.”
Goodge said: “I am so proud to have been the head of the Sydney office at a time when we have seen our biggest new business success in years – thanks to the Optus/VMA win, and when we have just been named the Global Agency of the Year at the Festival of Media awards. So, it seems quite appropriate to announce that after 13 very happy years at Starcom, I’ve decided that my job here is done and now is the perfect time for me to move on.”
Goodge will be leaving the agency only weeks after it won the coveted Optus media account, snaring the business from MPG, the joint venture between Aegis and Havas.
The Optus win had been a welcome reprieve for the agency, which had recently lost the Holden account due to global realignment.
