Full-service media agency Slingshot has picked up the SPC Ardmona business from Ikon. Slingshot will open a Melbourne office to service the account, whose brands include Goulburn Valley, SPC, IXL, Ardmona, Henry Jones and Taylor's.
Slingshot will handle media strategy and buying across all of SPC Ardmona’s brands with work starting immediately. Slingshot founder and CEO Simon Rutherford said the agency was identifying other potential new clients and talent in Melbourne to build on the momentum.
"We are thrilled to have won this pitch, we delivered some of our best work to win it and we can’t wait to bring those ideas to life," he said. "There’s a lot of consumer love for the SPC brand, as we’ve seen in social forums and in recent press, so we couldn’t be happier to have them as our foundation client in Melbourne."
Bronwyn Powell, marketing and innovation director at SPC Ardmona said: "Our business is undergoing major transformation, we have a small lean marketing team and through the pitch process Slingshot proved that they would be the ideal strategic partner to guide us and help us innovate in what is becoming a very complex media landscape. We get access to their senior team of talented people and SPC are very excited about working with them."
SPC Ardmona spent $2.4 million on main media in the 12 months to February, according to Nielsen.
