OMD head of print Simon Davies will join ACP Magazines next year as group manager of brand advertising strategy.
Davies will lead the publisher's national brand integration teams and be tasked with promoting ACP's multi-platform services and managing the future sales direction of its brands.
He is currently national trading head of print at media agency OMD and will join the company on 21 January 2013.
ACP Magazines is currently in the process of rebranding to its new owner's name Bauer Media, after it was sold by former parent Nine Entertainment Co for $525 million earlier this year.
ACP director of advertising Leigh Monti said: “To have someone as experienced and respected within the industry as Simon Davies join our company at this exciting time is a huge vote of confidence in our business and the future of magazines – both in the printed form and digital extensions.
“I look forward to working with Simon to conceive and implement creative and targeted initiatives that provide the best strategies for our clients and consumers to maximise the return on their investments in our great brands.”
Simon Davies said: “The acquisition of ACP Magazines by Bauer Media is driving a new sense of energy and excitement around magazines as a medium in the Australian market. As someone who is a self-confessed magazine addict, the opportunity to work on Australia’s best brands and help develop their cross platform presence is hugely exciting and an offer I could not resist.
“The various teams at ACP/Bauer have a great reputation and I look forward to working with them to help drive the brands to new heights.”
