Australian entertainer Rove McManus' new program Rove LA is off to a strong start following a heavy promotional campaign by Fox8.
Rove LA drew in 158,838 viewers across Fox8 on Foxtel and Austar last night, according to ratings figures from AdQuest eTam. The show is likely to be among the top 10 pay TV programs for the week.
McManus' show follows the talk show format, with the opening episode's guests including Entourage actor Jerry Ferrara, former Friends star Lisa Kudrow and comedian Kathy Griffin.
Fusion Strategy managing director Steve Allen told AdNews: “Rove had a good outing. With 159 000 views this puts him firmly in the top 10 programs for this week.
"Rove knows what he is doing, he isn't going to get the production wrong. He took himself off air in the first place and people love him. This is a good viewing figure for pay TV and I think the ratings will continue to stay strong.”
McManus previously hosted his own show on Network Ten for almost a decade, winning three Logie Awards in that period. He also owns production company Roving Enterprises which produces TV programs including The 7pm Project.
