Mining mogul and media investor Gina Rinehart is Australia's richest person and the world's richest woman, according to BRW's annual Rich 200 list, while media mogul Kerry Stokes came in at 11th.

Topping the Rich 200 for the second year running, Rinehart, who owns 10% of Network Ten and 12.6% of Fairfax Media, has amassed a fortune of $29.17 billion. When she debuted on the List in 1992, she had a fortune of only $75 million.

Placing at 11th on the list is Seven West Media and Seven Group Holdings chairman Kerry Stokes, with a fortune of $2.79 billion. Stokes recently sold his 2% stake in Network Ten only two months after his investment was announced.

WIN Television owner Bruce Gordon's $1.45 billion fortune earned him 21st place. Besides WIN, Australia's largest regional television broadcaster, Gordon is also a stakeholder in Network Ten.

Aegis Media Pacific executive chairman and recent AdNews Hall of Fame inductee Harold Mitchell ranked 124th on the list, with a fortune of $335 million, while advertising giant John Singleton ranked 138th on the list, with a fortune of $320 million.

James Packer, currently in the process of selling his stake in Consolidated Media Holdings and getting out of the media game, ranked 6th on the list with a fortune of $5.21 billion. The ConsMedia sale is rumoured to be funding Packer's increasing gaming interests.
