Procter & Gamble has named Yasuhiko Iida as its new marketing director for Australia as the incumbent Sujay Wasan moves to a regional role in Asia.
Iida joins from P&G's Japan business where he was marketing director for the beauty division. He will oversea all of P&G's marketing activity in the region and is due to start in October.
Wasan, who was appointed in February 2012, will leave his current position in mid-September.
The move follows the departure in May of P&G Australia's managing director Maile Carnegie who has been appointed by Google as country director for Google ANZ.
P&G, which owns brands including Gillette, Pampers and Olay, is facing global pressure from investors to improve performance after several quarters of lacklustre performance. In June beleaguered CEO Bob MacDonald was replaced by the FMCG firm's former boss AG Lafley, who is tasked with turning boosting sales and profit.
Earlier this week at P&G's end of year results Lafley told investors the company would focus on “value creation” and “'choiceful' investments in core brands, our biggest innovation opportunities, and in our core developed and most promising developing markets.”
