The NSW Government has put its $70.1 million media buying account out to tender, with incumbent MediaCom on alert.
The government is seeking tenders for its master media account, which will include buying and planning for departments such as NSW Health, Roads and Maritime Services, Destination NSW, NSW Police and more. MediaCom has held the business for 20 years.
It will include three categories of service: public awareness – media buying, public awareness – media planning and recruitment and public notice advertising.
There will be a briefing session on 17 April and tenders are open until 7 May.
The state government is also undertaking a pre-qualification scheme for creative and digital agencies to replace
its current panel. Agencies need to be on the government's list to work
with any state department or agency.
The NSW Government spent $70.1 million on main media in the 12 months to December 2012, down 4.5% year-on-year, according to Nielsen.
