News.com.au keeps top spot, SMH climbs

News Limited's News.com.au remained Australia's most visited news website for the fourth consecutive month in July, according to the latest Nielsen Online Ratings.

News.com.au pulled in 2.933 million unique viewers, up from 2.87 million in June, while SMH.com.au jumped from third to second place with a substantial increase, up from 2.596 million in June to 2.888 million last month.

Ninemsn dropped to third place despite a jump in audience, up from 2.616 million to 2.768. Yahoo!7 remained in fourth but was down slightly to 2.476 million, followed by The Age in fifth with 1.845 million, up from 1.827 million in June.

Apart from SMH.com.au and Ninemsn switching places, the ranking order remained the same, with ABC News, Herald Sun, BigPond, BBC and The Telegraph rounding out the top 10.
