MTV has slashed its staff base by 13 team members, amid a restructure of its local business.
A spokesperson for MTV confirmed the move to AdNews. The company said: "This restructure allows for improved content delivery systems and enhanced collaboration across MTV creative and commercial teams."
The staff are being cut from a range of divisions, including production, corporate, digital, creative and programming. Meanwhile, the company is scaling back its local production capabilities, with the intent of focusing on its global content.
The scaling back of its local operations began last year, when its New Zealand office was shut down. The office held 23 staff.
Viacom International Media Networks Australia owns MTV.
