The television chief executive of one of New Zealand's biggest media companies MediaWorks, Jason Paris, has resigned from his role.

MediaWorks group managing director Sussan Turner will take over responsibilities of the company's television division, with all senior television personnel reporting to her.

Paris will be remaining at the company in the short term to ease the transition.

Turner said: "I am very confident that we have, in our current television management team, the skill and expertise required to guide MediaWorks Television’s future development and growth."

Paris said: "The television team has achieved a huge amount in a challenging commercial environment. I thank all of them for their hard work and support and wish them all the very best in their ongoing endeavours."

MediaWorks has a wide range of media interests, including television, radio and digital assets.
