M&C Saatchi has nabbed Droga5's strategy honcho Justin Graham as chief strategy officer.

The chief strategy officer role at M&C is newly created and will see Graham lead strategy across all of M&C Saatchi Group's agencies.

Graham has been with Droga5 for almost four years after returning from BBDO New York where he was global planning director, leading the Procter & Gamble and Diageo brands.

“Justin is a world class strategist who will help drive the M&C Saatchi Group forward,” M&C chief executive Jaimes Leggett said. “His expertise and experience are a perfect fit for our integrated offering. It is also encouraging that after a global search we found Justin right here in Sydney.”

Graham said: “The M&C Saatchi ethos of 'Brutal Simplicity of Thought' is more relevant now than ever.”

Graham is also vice chairman of The Communications Council's Account Planning Group.

The chief strategy officer role is a series of new senior appointments made by M&C Saatchi. It follows the hire of group operations director Marc van den Berg and social strategy director Tipereth Gloria.

M&C is expected to announce another significant appointment in the first quarter of 2014.
