Independent digital agency Reborn has been appointed as L'Oreal Paris' digital partner, with the agency expanding to Melbourne to service the account.

Reborn picked up the account following a pitch against Visual Jazz, DTDigital and incumbent McCann. Reborn will work across digital marketing activities including campaigns, customer relationship management and social media.

The agency's first work for the brand is a campaign for L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Reborn already works with L'Oreal Group on some of the company's other brands.

Reborn's co-founder and managing director, Sabir Samtani, has relocated to Melbourne to lead the agency's second office with the aim to grow the southern team to ten employees. Reborn has 32 employees in Sydney.

L'Oreal Paris digital manager, Natalie Motta, said: “They demonstrated a clear understanding of our business problems and objectives with a fresh and passionate approach.

“Their response demonstrated a sound strategic vision that integrated across multiple touchpoints on and offline to create meaningful brand experiences.”

Samtani, said: “We see L'Oreal Paris as leaders in the beauty space when it comes to forward thinking digital strategy and its commitment to innovation, which is really exciting for us. The pitch involved a great mix of strategy and ideas that look to merge the digital and physical worlds together through participation, engagement and curation.”

Reborn is the formation of two digital agencies, Lighthouse Interactive and The V Project, which merged in 2011.
