House Rules nailed another victory in the free-to-air TV ratings battle last night, while the return of Under The Dome failed to deliver for Ten.
As the final elimination and the grand final of the home reno show on Seven looms, it pulled in 1.514 million viewers across Australia's five metro areas.
But the season two premiere of US thriller Under The Dome, on Ten, won just 625,000 viewers – well down on last year's season one premiere which won an audience of more than 1.17 million.
House Rules set Seven up to beat Nine to the biggest audience share, taking 31.8%, according to preliminary overnight ratings figures from OzTam. Nine won 30.6% of the total audience, while Ten took 18.2%.
MasterChef Australia performed better for Ten, finishing in sixth place with an audience of 991,000.
Hamish & Andy's Gap Year, in South America, put on a strong show for Nine, winning 983,000 viewers to put it in seventh place.
Completing the top 10 was Seven News, in second place with 1.253 million viewers, Nine News, third with 1.242 million, Seven's Today Tonight, fourth with 1.140 million, Nine News at 6.30, fifth with 1.108 million, Home and Away on Seven, eighth with 960,000, Winners & Losers on Seven, ninth with 941,000, and ABC News, 10th with 883,000.
