Former Austereo executive chairman Peter Harvie is returning to CHE after 18 years, as the agency plans to change its name back to Clemenger Harvie later in the year.
Harvie was a founder of the agency, and will return to the business as non-executive chairman. He was executive chairman at Austereo until the business was bought by Southern Cross Media earlier this year.
CHE chief executive Mark Coad said: “When he founded Clemenger Harvie in 1974, Peter’s vision was to build a strong agency on a bedrock of effective work, fast response and strong client partnerships.
“Over the past decades CHE has delivered on that vision with a strong and stable client base – many of which joined the agency during Peter’s time at the helm.”
Harvie first joined the Clemenger Group in 1966, and founded Clemenger Harvie in 1974. He was appointed a director of Clemenger Group in 1975. He moved to Village Roadshow in 1993, and was appointed chairman of Austereo in 1997.
Harvie remains a non-executive director at Southern Cross Austereo and at Village Roadshow.
With Harvie returning to the CHE fold, the agency has unveiled plans to change its name back to Clemenger Harvie.
He will take up his new role from October 3.
