Harold Mitchell has rubbished rumours that Aegis Pacific's deputy chairman had left the company.
Speculation about the future of the Mitchells has been rife since the takeover by Dentsu was announced. Executive chairman Mitchell confirmed last month that he will stay on at the company following the sale. He told AdNews that rumours over son and deputy chairman Stuart Mitchell were likely from the same competitors that have aimed potshots for years.
That was the cost of being the market's number one player, he suggested. "We've been number one for nine years in a row. People have been killing me off for years. So now it is the same with Stuart. But it is business as usual. The Dentsu matter is on track to complete in the next month."
